Japan’s Internet Giant GMO is Set to Launch Its 7nm Bitcoin Miner
June 4, 2018Japan’s GMO Internet unveils its flagship bitcoin mining machine, called GMO miner B2 – equipped with the 7nm chips, set to launch this June 2018.
The long wait for the 7nm bitcoin mining products from the Japanese internet giant is nearing to a close, as the company announced last week. GMO Internet Group will launch GMO miner B2 – a high-performance computer for mining. It will produce the world’s first mining machine equipped with a cutting-edge 7nm process-based semiconductor chip, which will be shipped at the end of October this year.
The company has been working on the development and research of the 7nm mining chip since the last quarter of 2018. The company has been using “store-bought mining computers” for all its mining operation, as news. Bitcoin previously reported. Today, it is ready to start making its mining equipment made with the new 7nm chip, which GMO will also use for its in-house operation.
The company also confirmed that they would be using the 7nm chip for potential customers who are planning to mine. While the GMO has not yet released images for the real mining hardware, the company has delivered some illustrative images of the GMO miner B2 presently in development.
According to the GMO’s announcement, an information session for all the potential customers will be held this June, in Shibuya, Tokyo. The company will explain all the details of the GMO miner B2, such as the performance and price. Based on the announcements made by the team, there will also be an information session about the company’s cloud mining service and the sessions will be in Japanese. Registration is open to all interested customers and other institutional investors. For all the customers who haven’t registered in advance will be refused admission.
Furthermore, the company no longer plans to use an initial coin offering (ICO) for the sale of its mining boards as announced last year by the GMO. A representative of the team told the report that, for their mining machine sales and cloud mining, they are not planning to utilize ICO. This upcoming launching of Japan’s Internet Giant GMO is set by the first week of June 2018. GMO aims to make this launch success as they are working on both the development and research of the 7nm mining chip since September, last year.
